Last week saw the return of the Purchase to Pay Network Summit #P2PTransform20 but not as we know it! Following the success of last years event at the fabulous Hurlingham Club, everyone was looking forward to returning to the same location, but as we all know this was not to be!
The PPN did a fantastic job of making the Purchase to Pay Network Summit ‘digital’ and the day kicked off with the adventurer, Simon Reeve, talking about his life in the context of transformation and risk. From a very slow start as a teenager leaving school with no qualifications, and pronounced mental health issues, he became a post boy at the Sunday Times. He worked through the ranks and started researching his first book aged 21. It was one of the few books published at the time on the subject of al-Qaida, but did not achieve notable readership until the 9/11 tragedy when suddenly it became a best seller. This kick-started Simon’s journey to adventure and his stories of personal risk and subsequent transformation are fascinating!
After Lunch we hard from Dr Sue Black OBE. Also a life story, titled ‘If I can do it so can you’ She spoke passionately about the trials of growing up with little education (a recurring theme of the day it seemed!) and then how she went back to school and ended up signing up for a PhD without even knowing what a PhD was! The Saving Bletchley Park project that she spearheaded was fascinating. What a career and what an achievement!
Throughout the day we heard from industry leaders and influencers, often centred around the issues related to COVID-19 from cash flow to become a digital finance leader and from achieving transformation to AI and IA and News from the Next World!
The day culminated in the announcements of the award winners. Documation sponsored the award for Innovation in Supporting the Business which was won by AutoTrader Core Services Team! Huge congratulations to all those involved!
Needless to say, it was an informative, insightful event and professionally run as always. We were very proud to be involved and are looking forward to the other events we are working with the Purchase to Pay Network on for the rest of the year.
